| Burlington’s Brown, Kalo Take Positions With State Bar Organizations |

BURLINGTON – Two Burlington attorneys with Wishart Norris Henninger & Pittman in Burlington have accepted positions with statewide bar groups.
Brown is a board certified specialist in estate planning and probate law. His practice focuses on the transfer and protection of assets. Besides estate planning and taxes, he counsels clients on elder law, asset protection, business succession planning and special needs and disability. Brown frequently lectures on elder law, tax and estate topics to attorneys, accountants and community groups. Earlier this year, he was listed in Business North Carolina magazine’s 2009 Legal Elite as among the best Tar Heel lawyers in his field. He also was recognized as a “Rising Star” among North Carolina attorneys by Super Lawyers, a by-state ranking of those in the legal profession that is printed in Charlotte Magazine and many other publications across the nation. Brown graduated Magna Cum Laude in Music and Communications from Wake Forest University in 1992, where he attended on an A.J. Fletcher Music Scholarship. He earned his master’s of Business Administration and his law degree from Wake Forest, both in 1997. Kalo’s practice focuses on real property law (commercial and residential), real estate development, zoning, land use and regulation, foreclosure and collection and real property litigation. He is a board certified specialist in real property law – residential, business, commercial and industrial transactions. Kalo earned a bachelor’s in Economics and German at Vanderbilt University in 1990. He completed his law degree at the University of North Carolina School of Law in 1994. He joined Wishart Norris Henninger & Pittman in 1999 after working for a time in Ashevllle. He is licensed to practice in North Carolina and South Carolina. He is immediate past president of Family Abuse Services of Alamance County.
