BURLINGTON, N.C. – Derek B. Steed, attorney with Wishart Norris Henninger & Pittman, P.A. has been recognized by the Triad Business Journal as one of the North Carolina Triad’s “Most Influential” leaders. Steed has been named to this notable list every year since 2007. This year’s list recognizes 113 leaders in the twelve-county region of the Piedmont Triad of North Carolina. Steed is a member of the firm’s Board of Directors and is based in its Burlington, N.C. office. He serves as an attorney for privately-held businesses, handling such matters as commercial transactions and mergers and acquisitions. He earned his B.A., summa cum laude, from West Virginia Wesleyan College and received his J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law. Active as a volunteer in the community, Steed previously served as Chairman of the United Way of Alamance County Board of Directors and Chairman of the Board of the Alamance County Area Chamber of Commerce. Steed currently serves on the local United Way’s Board of Directors and the Board of Trustees of Alamance Community College. In 2012, he will serve as the Corporate Chairman for Alamance County’s 2012 Walk to Cure Diabetes. This is an annual event by the Piedmont Triad chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Steed lives in Burlington with wife, Julie, and his three children.
