| Garth Dunklin Honored By N.C. Real Estate Commission and Education Association |

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Garth Dunklin, who practices law at Wishart Norris Henninger & Pittman, P.A., has been honored by the North Carolina Real Estate Commission with its 2011 Billie J. Mercer Excellence in Education Award. It’s presented annually to the person selected by the North Carolina Real Estate Educators Association as its “Educator of the Year”, an honor Dunklin shared this year with co-winner Cindy Chandler. The award was established in memory of Billie J. Mercer who, as a member and former Chair of the Real Estate Commission, was dedicated to furthering the education and knowledge of real estate practitioners and persons entering the real estate business. The trophy was presented at the Association’s spring meeting in Raleigh recently. Dunklin heads up Wishart Norris Henninger & Pittman, P.A.’s commercial real estate practice in its Charlotte office. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, received his JD from UNC and was admitted to practice before the NC Bar in 1988 as well as in South Carolina and Georgia. Other honors and awards include recognition by Woodward/White’s “The Best Lawyers in America” in real estate law in 2010 and 2011 and inclusion in “North Carolina Super Lawyers” in Real Estate Transactions each year since 2006. In the community, he’s active on the Board of Advisors of Charlotte Collegiate Football, and at Sardis Presbyterian Church. Dunklin lives in Charlotte with wife Helen and children, Garth Jr., and Macy. Wishart Norris Henninger & Pittman serves privately owned businesses and their owners in North Carolina and South Carolina with offices in Charlotte and Burlington. The firm’s concentrations include business, exit planning, succession planning, litigation, taxation, estate planning, commercial and residential real estate and land use and family law.
