Danica Little Spearheads Make-A-Wish Fundraiser

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Danica L. Little, attorney with Wishart Norris Henninger & Pittman, P.A., headed up a May 21 fundraiser for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central and Western North Carolina that raised over $60,000 for local wish kids. Make-A-Wish has granted the wishes of more than 170,000 children with life-threatening medical conditions nationwide.

The first ever “Spring Wish Drive” was held at the Johnson Mansion on Queens Road West in Myers Park, which Jo and Don Johnson donated for the event. The day included a magic show by Master Magician Thomas Clark, silent auction, raffle, food and a variety of entertainment for the over 200 people who attended.

Little’s desire was to “pass the power of a Wish forward” by spearheading the 2011 Spring Wish Drive fundraiser. Little’s 7 year-old daughter, Madison, is a Make-A-Wish recipient whose wish was to go to Costa Rica last year.

Little was assisted by Amisha Amin, the mother of 4 year-old Diya, who is also a Make-A-Wish recipient. Diya’s wish was to go to Disney World. Little and Amin met in the hospital last year where they lived while their daughters were both undergoing treatment for AML leukemia. Having experienced the power of a wish firsthand, Little and Amin are both very passionate about helping other local wish families.

Little is a Board Certified Specialist in Estate Planning and Probate Law and a CPA. She earned her B.A. and Masters degrees from the University of South Florida, and received her JD from the Florida State University College of Law magna cum laude and was admitted to practice before the NC Bar in 2004, and SC Bar in 2006. She is the 2011 President of the Charlotte Women’s Bar.
